Facebook's First Global Government Requests Report Published

Facebook published its first Global Government Request Report which covers the first 6 months of 2013.This report consists of all the data request for information by different government around the globe. Facebook General Counsel,Colin Stretch, said "Transparency and trust are core values at Facebook. We strive to embody them in all aspects of our services, including our approach to responding to government data requests. We want to make sure that the people who use our service understand the nature and extent of the requests we receive and the strict policies and processes we have in place to handle them."
According to this report,there has been 11,000-12,000 requests from the United States for 20,000 - 21,000 users making the United States first followed by India with 3,245 requests affecting 4,144 users.In both cases,not a 100% data were produced.In the same report published, Facebook also provided a link where a series of guidelines were listed regarding their approach in providing the data requested.
