Computer Emergency Response Team Launched By Uganda

To improve and secure communication in Uganda, the UCC,Uganda Communications Commission, has launched a Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). This team will be responsible for monitoring the internet and report high-tech crimes such as cyber-based terrorist,computer intrusions,online sexual exploitation and major cyber frauds.
Patrick Mwesigwa,the UCC director for technology and licensing said that they already have the necessary equipment to monitor these cyber crimes.A team of expert has been hired by the Government to herl the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to trace suspected cases.
