Police Handcuff Keys Copied By Hacker
During the conference of Hackers On Planet Earth in New York, a hacker known as 'Ray' demonstrated how handcuff keys can be rebuild using 3D printers and some new laser tools which are easily available. Ray who is also a security consultant wanted to show how weak the handcuffs were.
Ray told Forbes that he managed to purchase a key from ebay,which is identical to the one police usually used,that is, keys made by Bonowi of Germany and Chubb of England. Those handcuffs uses a standard model key. He then measured the key using a calliper, designed a blueprint of it and then created copied of the key using a laser cutter and a 3D printer.
