Hackers breached the Security in University server and altered the grade

Santa Clara University located in the Silicon Valley is suffering from Security Breach. Recently, the university published a statement regarding an intrusion into the University's computerized academic records system. The informed to FBI about the Intrusion and  cooperating fully with its ongoing investigation.


 According to the investigation, attacker break into university server on june 2010 and july 2011, results in grade alteration,affecting a handful of current UG students and approximately sixty former UG Students.

Under the direction of Dennis Jacobs, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, They have undertaken a comprehensive examination of all affected records and are taking steps to restore them to their proper form. This will include contacting individual faculty, students, and former students whose grades may have been altered.

“We want to reassure all affected students that the university will work to rectify their grade records and ensure the integrity of their transcript,” said Jacobs.
